When I started my business, I started it out of passion. I did not know what to do; I just knew I wanted to share my online experiences with other people who also have this interest. As I learned more about the online environment, I launched the business based on my other passions and found out that any passion can become a business. So let’s see the steps needed to start a passion-based online business.
Step 1 – Identify your passion
We all have passions. Whether we have a specific hobby or we like a particular activity. There may indeed be underdeveloped passions or tendencies of interest to something specific and, for various reasons, not insisted enough in that direction.
Discover your passion, whether it’s just a little interest in a particular area. The easiest to identify a hobby is to answer the question: “What do I like to do all day without getting bored?”
Once you have identified your passion, go to step 2.
Step 2 – Develop your product
Steve Jobs. Mark Zuckerberg. Jack Ma. These are all big names in the industry. What set them apart was their vision and their creativity in developing their products. They made their passions tangible and created the need with other people. All their products are a hit! Now, they have become household names. This could be you too!
Whether it be a fashion line, gadgets, cosmetics or services like: blogging, customized workout / meal plans. Add your own unique twist and get it out there!
Step 3 – Target market
To have a successful business, you need to identify your niche market. You can easily base this on the passions or interests you have identified. Conducting a market study through social media is a great tool in polishing who your target market is.
Most businesses thrive on getting insider information through Facebook pages analytics and through different blogs. Make use of this free tool to gather and round up the audience of your choosing.
Step 4 – Establishing your business
Now that you have identified your passion, product and audience the next question is how to get your product out there. If you search the internet, you can find loads of sites where you can have your products available. We have the older players: Amazon and Ebay. The new players: Shopify and Etsy. You can even find a shop in Facebook, nowadays!
Each online shop has its own advantages and disadvantages. You can go all out and place your products on multiple sites or streamline it to your Top 3. A major decision maker is the convenience of dropshipping. Read on to know more about this.
Step 5 – The advantages of dropshipping
Dropshipping is the convenience of owning a shop without actual inventory on your hands. You can partner with a supplier, who will ship the items from their supply to your customers. This could be labeled with your own brand and it doesn’t even have to pass through your hands.
One of the main benefits of dropshipping is that you will be exempt from stock management. This involves significant financial savings (which reduces your risk of losing the business if the business does not work). Since you do not have to manage stock, you will not have to invest in storage or maintenance. This is the main attraction of dropshipping. It allows you to engage in sales and maximize profit without worrying about logistical issues.
Starting a business is easier and faster than ever: You will spend just what will cost you to create your online store. If you additionally subcontract services to develop it, you can have your e-commerce ready in a much shorter time than you can imagine. The dropshipping provider will take care of everything. Your vendor must become your global logistics operator with all that involves. He has to manage all the goods in stock, record the order, pick up, prepare the delivery package and coordinate with the appropriate courier companies for each area.
There is much to talk about this subject. That’s why I recommend a specialized course. By checking out Drew’s Review, you can find courses that can tell you how to do these things correctly.
Step 6 – What is a Lead And What You Need from It
A lead is a person interested in your niche/passion. He’s a person who has the same interests as you. A lead is a prospectus that can buy your product. A lead is more than a unique visitor on the site. He is a faithful visitor, really interested in the subject. Before you make any sale, you need leads/prospects.
To get them, go to step 7.
Step 7 – Autoresponder and Email List
Autoresponder is a software that helps you store email addresses (list) and create a relationship with the prospectus/lead. A sale takes place only after creating a connection. You do not go and buy from someone that you do not know. First, an unknown person must become known and capture your trust.
This is done through articles on the blog of your E-commerce/Dropshipping business, as well as bonuses offered as a reward if the visitor subscribes by email. This is an excellent way to delineate those who are just curious and uninterested to those who are really interested.
Step 8 – Getting it out there
Once you have the system put on your wheels and bring traffic and leads and your email list grows, it’s time to let your market know who you are. Creating your advertising and promotional media is a good start as you develop the whole system.
Did you know that SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is no longer just about Google? If you want more than traffic, conversions and sales, you have to understand your audience and learn about your website from a mix of channels – how to mix them to have the best results. The truth is that the whole range of online marketing techniques has changed. See here.
If you want to get to the top positions in search engines and want to stay there, you need to understand how valuable user experience is and give up the thought of manipulating Google through black hat SEO related links or keyword density. Moreover, above all, you need to understand that the beneficial actions for you are in the minds of the users: if you serve them exactly what they need from the results in Google, they will enter the site – and from there you only control the road to purchase.
Step 9 – Selling the online business
An online business can be successful in two forms:
– Through a landing page where you enumerate and present the products and their benefits
– Through products launches – a series of pages and materials that bring value and showcase the products and their benefits
Having your online payment is good. You can also sell by bank transfer only if you are in the beginning.
Step 10 – Continue the Process
Continue the process by concentrating on:
– Increasing traffic
– Increasing the number of products
– Improving your online business/niche sites.
